It’s not the first time America’s Next Top Model’s season 1 winner, Adrianne Curry, has had something negative to say about the show.
This time it’s the latest season’s winner, Saleisha, who’s caught Curry’s attention.Saleisha’s win has prompted some slings on Curry’s myspace blog.
“If I had been one of the other contestants, I would be crying foul everywhere I went. I am really surprised at how unfair that season seems,” Curry says, responding to allegations that Saleisha not only had modeled before coming on the show (Wendy’s commercials and the Tyra Banks Show), but also already had a relationship with Tyra through Tyra’s T-Zone camp.
“I agree with the majority in saying that this is not fair,” Curry says. She goes on to say that she knows that Tyra is “an honest person,” and believes that, ifTyra is not an unfair person, she will do the right thing in this situation.
Curry then reminds readers that she’s still awaiting a check for work she did while on Models (“Heck,” she says, “…Been trying to get that check since 2003.”). This is not the first time that Curry’s criticized Tyra and Models for not delivering the goods. Curry’s criticism of Tyra (accusing Tyra of being “Naomi Campbell in your face” when the cameras aren’t rolling) and America’s Next Top Model has long since caused the show to shun Curry. Curry’s name has not been mentioned on the show since season 2 (save for a brief mention in the opening of season 6).
Still, Curry doesn’t seem to have done too bad for herself, having scored some pretty major gigs since her Top Model win, not the least of which being a Playboy cover and spread in 2006 and another in this month’s (January 2008) issue.
America’s Next Top Model has not yet responded to Curry’s allegations. Reality TV Magazine will keep you updated if there are any changes.
