According to a report from Michael Ausiello of TVGuide.com, one of American Idol judges is in talks to perform live during Super Bowl XLII. Which judge? Paula Abdul, of course.

While Paula Abdul hasn’t released an album of new material since 1995, Ausiello quotes sources in Abdul’s inner circle that she is in rehearsals for the video to her duet with Randy Jackson. This will be the first single from his upcoming Music Club Vol. 1 CD. Ausiello reports that Abdul would probably use the same choreography during her Super Bowl performance.

So how likely is this deal/rumor to really happen? Considering that Super Bowl XLII is being broadcast by Fox, it would make sense for them to feature someone from one of their top-rated shows during the telecast.

If Paula Abdul does perform during Super Bowl XLII, then she won’t be the only representation from American Idol there. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been officially announced as the entertainment host for the Super Bowl XLII pregame show.
