Talented musician, songwriter, A&R exec, Grammy-winning producer Randy Jackson is bringing together a musical “dream-team” for his new CD, Randy Jackson’s Music Club Vol. 1.
“I’m really pleased that a bunch of wonderful, talented people showed up,” Jackson said of his experience producing Randy Jackson’s Music Club Vol. 1. “I’m really blessed by the way it all came together.”
And come together they did. The CD features the voices of some of the best and brightest in the music industry, not the least of which is fellow Idol judge, Paula Abdul, whose featured single, “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” is the first single she’s released in more than a decade. Music Club will also feature Joss Stone, Travis Tritt, and Jason Mraz, not to mention guitar legend Richie Sambora, R&B star Sam Moore, and Big & Rich’s John Rich.
American Idol fans will recognize the voices of Elliott Yamin and Katherine McPhee, and gospel lovers will delight in the gospel track, “Understand,” which features the voices of Mariah Carey, Bebe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Kim Burrell, and Rance Allen.
If it sounds like Randy Jackson’s Music Club Vol. 1 has a little bit of everything, that’s because it does — R&B, pop, country, blues, hip-hop, rock, jazz, fusion, gospel, and more. “I didn’t want to make it all one genre, because that’s not who I am,” Jackson insists. “There’s something here for every listener.”
Randy Jackson’s Music Club Vol. 1 is Randy Jackson’s first solo album on his new label, Dream Merchant 21, and will be in stores on March 11, 2008.
