American Idol Winner Carrie Underwood To Perform At 50th Annual Grammy Awards

American Idol winner and multiple Grammy Award nominee Carrie Underwood is going to be performing at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The Grammy Awards will air live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10 from 8 PM to 11:30 PM live ET/ delayed PT on CBS.

For the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, Carrie Underwood is nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals (with Brad Paisley). Carrie Underwood has previously won two Grammy Awards.

In a reality TV type competition, there will be a “My GRAMMY Moment” 2008 segment, produced in partnership with YouTube and CBS.com. In the segment, up to 15 unsigned musicians will have the opportunity to play with Foo Fighters. They will be part of an orchestra that is being created specifically for the event.

Three of these musicians will compete for the chance to be a featured instrumentalist during the Foo Fighters performance. Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones will serve as a special guest conductor. The performance will be a new take on the single “The Pretender.”
