The reality game show The Moment Of Truth has struck a chord with viewers and has become a huge hit for FOX. Of course, the fact that the show airs after American Idol doesn’t hurt either. In response to the success of The Moment Of Truth, FOX has officially ordered an additional thirteen episodes of the show.
The Moment Of Truth is the number one new show of the season so far, and the show is the third-highest rated program of the season among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. The only shows ahead of The Moment Of Truth in this demographic are the Tuesday and Wednesday night editions of American Idol. The premiere episode had the highest retention ever for a premiere leading out of American Idol.
On The Moment Of Truth, contestants are put to a lie detector test for a chance to win half a million dollars. Contestants are challenged to answer twenty-one questions honestly as determined by a polygraph. The first couple questions are easy but the questions keep becoming increasingly personal. Contestants reveal their answers in front of spouses, relatives and friends. In order to win the half a million dollars, contestants have to tell the truth.
The Moment Of Truth currently airs on Wednesdays from 9 PM to 10 PM ET/PT on FOX. On Wednesday, March 5, the show will move to its regularly scheduled time period of 8 PM to 9 PM ET/PT.
