Viewers of Super Bowl XLII might start to feel like they are watching an episode of American Idol. FOX, which airs this year’s Super Bowl, is making sure that their number one TV show is well represented in the big game. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is the official entertainment host for the Super Bowl XLII pre-game show.

During the pre-game show, American Idol judge Paula Abdul will give the premiere performance of her hot new single, “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.” Paula Abdul recently taped the video for the single, and fellow American Idol judge and song producer Randy Jackson is also in the video. The single will be part of Randy Jackson’s new album Randy Jackson’s Music Club Volume 1.

Even American Idol judge Simon Cowell and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest appear briefly in Paula Abdul’s new music video. While it’s not confirmed if Simon Cowell will play a part in the Super Bowl festivities, it would not be surprising at this point if he showed up in the game catching passes from Tom Brady.

After the pre-game show, American Idol 6 winner Jordin Sparks will kickoff the Super Bowl by singing the national anthem. There is even an American Idol commercial scheduled to play during Super Bowl XLII that will feature Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Live pre-game coverage of Super Bowl XLII with host Ryan Seacrest kicks off on Sunday, February 3 at 2 PM ET live. The kickoff time for the actual Super Bowl is 6:17 PM ET. American Idol airs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX.
