Straight up, now tell me…did Paula Abdul’s Super Bowl performance leave you wishing she’d put out more than just a single? Those of us who remember the Eighties (and still sometimes do the kitty-cat choreography of Opposites Attract in front of our bedroom mirrors sometimes…er…I mean…) have been salivating for an Abdul album since Cold Hearted Snake slithered off the airways. And those younguns who…okay, yeah, weren’t born yet (whatever) in the Eighties but have been Idolizing her for a few years would love nothing more than a CD to bring into their American Idol audition for an autograph, right?
Good news, Idol fans! Not only is Paula working on a new full-length album, but her good friend and judging buddy, American Idol’s Randy Jackson, will be helping her with the production of it.
Jackson (who must be eating his Wheaties because that dawg is into everything these days) revealed during a recent interview that he planned to have a hand in the production of Paula’s new album. “We’ve been talking about it,” he said. “We gotta keep things rolling, you know?”
Although no official release date has been announced, the singer’s official website has hinted at a summer 2008 release.
