Elliott-Yamin-Courtesy-FOXWe fell in love with season five third-placer Elliott Yamin for his soulful voice and humble attitude. Now we can adore him for another reason: his support of American troops.

Linking up with the USO, Yamin will soon be heading off to Germany, Belgium, and the United Kingdom to support and entertain troops. Duringthe scheduled10 days abroad, Yamin’s USO Entertainment tour will include performances and autographs by the talented singer.

This is not Yamin’s first military-support endeavor. In June 2007, he visited North Island Naval Base in San Diego, where he welcomed home troops and thanked them for their service to our country.

Yamin took 3rd in season five of American Idol, and has been on a roll ever since, landing a contract with Hickory Records and major radio air time with hits Movin’ On and Wait for You. His self-titled debut album ranked #3 on Billboard charts and sold more than 90,000 copies. He says performing for the troops is “the least” he can do, in thanks for their efforts for our country.

Yamin’s USO tour will extend Feb. 12 – Feb. 21.
