The wait is over. Big Brother’s first ever Winter edition premieres tonight (Tuesday, February 12) on CBS. This edition is entitled “Big Brother: ‘Til Death Do You Part.” While multi-media platforms are nothing new to Big Brother, there are more options than ever before for keeping up with the Big Brother houseguests around the clock.
In addition to the main Big Brother 9 series on CBS, viewers can also watch online (RealNetworks, CBS.com, the CBS Audience Network), on the phone (CBS Mobile) and on cable (SHOWTIME).
On CBS, Big Brother 9 will be broadcast three nights weekly on Tuesdays (9 PM to 10 PM ET/PT), the live eviction show, hosted by Julie Chen, on Wednesdays (8 PM to 9 PM live ET/delayed PT) and Sundays (8 PM to 9 PM ET/PT).
To keep up with Big Brother 9 online, viewers can look forward to a redesigned and relaunched site on CBS.com. In addition to a streamlined design, the site will include more videos and photos, a Big Brother widget, a Big Brother message board, full-length episodes, and highlight clips.
CBS has also once again partnered with RealNetworks, Inc. RealNetworks will offer exclusive 24/7 live streaming video from inside the Big Brother house. The webcast coverage will start immediately following the February 12 premiere of Big Brother. Subscribers to the 24/7 video stream will be able to watch any one of four live camera feeds or view all four cameras at once with the special quad-cam view.
In addition, House Calls: The Big Brother Talk Show is back. The show is a no-charge, half-hour, live streaming video and on-demand talk show, which broadcasts every Monday through Friday (1 PM ET, 1O AM PT) on CBS.com. Big Brother 8 winner Evel Dick Donato and radio personality Gretchen Massey will co-host House Calls.
The head of household blog will also return for its third season. Viewers will be able toread every weekwhat the head of household thinks about life in the Big Brother house.
In a Big Brother first, CBS Mobile will stream the entire season of Big Brother 9 through a dedicated channel on the MediaFLO FLO TV service. Episodes will also be simulcast on CBS Mobile.
As part of the mobile subscription package, fans will receive video clips, photos, live breaking house alerts and daily insider summaries sent straight to their cell phones. Made-for-mobile wallpapers and ringtones will also be available. More information will be available at CBSmobile.com.
Also, America’s Vote is returning. Fans will be given the opportunity to impact life in the Big Brother house by casting votes via text message on most major wireless carriers.
As previously reported in Reality TV Magazine, CBS has also renewed their partnership with Showtime. Fans can get a late-night look inside the Big Brother house with Big Brother: After Dark. Big Brother: After Dark will feature a seven day a week feed from the Big Brother house from Midnight to 3 AM live ET/delayed PT on the cable network’s “SHO2″ channel beginning Tuesday, February 12.
