This year, alongside country music powerhouses Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, and Trace Adkins, four Idol contestants have managed to scoop up 2008 CMT Music Awards nominations.

Of course it’s no surprise that star Carrie Underwood is at the top of the list, nominated for three awards, among those Video of the Year, for “Wasted,” and Female Video of the Year, for “So Small.”

Season 1 American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s Reba McEntire duet “Because of You” scored Clarkson two nominations: Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year.

Cute and bubbly Kelly Pickler scored a nomination for Performance of the Year, for her performance of “I Wonder” at last year’s CMA awards. The video for the same song also scored a nomination forTearjerker Video of the Year.

Additionally, Pickler goes Idol-to-Idol with Bucky Covington, both nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year, Pickler for “I Wonder” and Covington for “A Different World.”

The 2008 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus, will air live on CMT on April 14th.
