What Caused Her to Lose Her Cool at the Weigh-In?
It’s not unusual to see the Biggest Loser “Black Team” trainer, Jillian Michaels, lose her cool during a workout. However, this week Michaels stunned audiences when she seemingly lost her temper with host, Alison Sweeney during a pre-weigh-in interview.
During the interview, Sweeney was grilling contestant Brittany about the upcoming weigh-in, when Michaels suddenly jumped to Brittany’s defense, crying, “Have a ^%$&* heart andleave the ^&%$ girl alone!”
What made Jillian lose her temper?
“It wasn’t Ali I was talking to. I was talking to the producers,” Michaels told Reality TV Magazine in an exclusive interview. “They were questioning Brittany throughout the week about if she felt guilty about Bernie going home. She’d been crying all week long. It had been a really hard week for her. Alison was asking Brittany about Bernie,[The producers] feed [Ali] the questions. They tell her what to say,I knew they were setting [Brittany] up to feel awful. Never in my mind did I think that they would find a way to make it look like I was talking to Alison Sweeney. I was having a conversation with a producer.”
Michaels, who says she feels responsible for the players on her team, says that she believes this season has been manipulated in a way that’s unfair to the girls.
“I think people need to appreciate that there’s a third player in this game and the third player is production. The producers don’t want to see me win one more time. My team is sort of paying for me. Letting Bob pick his entire team,C’mon, really? I get it and I understand it would be bad TV but at the same time it hurts my contestants. All of the challenges are geared toward the boys. My team is upset more so because they feel as though the rules are being changed at a whim so things will come out a certain way.”
To further add to the Black Team’s misery, Michaels says, is Team Blue (AKA: “Team Pride”), who have been bullying the girls.
“The boys on Bob’s team are bullies and literally bully the girls and pick on them and are mean to them. Having Bernie there, they felt safe. Roger didn’t attack them when Bernie was around because Bernie would get in his face. They’re scared without Bernie.”
But Michaels feels that, despite her admitted “issues” with the Biggest Loser producers, the bigger point of the show is about people overcoming obstacles, and she regrets having voiced her opinion in the way she did.
“I still never should’ve made my point by swearing. It was juvenile, it was vulgar, it was classless. It won’t happen again.”
And as for her relationship with Alison Sweeney?
“Alison and I actually get along great. I have nothing but great things to say about her.”
