American Idol Announces Charities For Idol Gives Back

As previously reported by Reality TV Magazine, Idol Gives Back 2008 has a number of impressive celebrity guest stars onboard. The stars who have been announced include Bono, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Mariah Carey, Fergie, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, Annie Lennox, John Legend and Snoop Dogg.

Now, FOX has made another important announcement about Idol Gives Back, which is what charities will benefit from the program. Last year, Idol Gives Back raised more than $76 million for charity. This year, Idol Gives Back will raise money and awareness for the Children’s Defense Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More, Save The Children and the Children’s Health Fund.

Idol Gives Back has a special 7:30 PM start time and will air on Wednesday, April 9 from 7:30 PM 10 PM ET/PT on FOX. While the show is airing, viewers will be able to make donations through toll-free lines and the Internet.
