Well, if you’re rolling out your 20th season, you might as well make it a big deal. The Real World: Hollywood has plenty of big changes for its 20th, premiering Wednesday, April 19th.
For the first time ever, Real World turned to the Internet for some of its casting. Out of 20,000 online applicants, Real World went with “Pretyboy” as their 7th contestant, and are already receiving some negative opinions about him. Also, with exclusive material online, On Demand, and via Virtual Real World, viewers who can’t get enough of Real World no longer have to–it’ll be at your fingertips 24/7.
In addition to going tech on us, for the first time ever, the Real World house is an enviro-friendly house, filled with eco-friendly items and lifestyle choices. And another first: one-hour episodes for 13 weeks only!
In this 20th season of Real World, rather than focus on one group job, each of the contestants will be following their Hollywood dreams, which span from singer to journalist to music producer. The group will form a traveling comedy improv troupe, taking lessons at 10 West.
“Now in its banner twentieth season,” says Tony DiSanto, MTV’s Executive VP for Series Programming and Development. “‘The Real World: Hollywood’ will continue the franchise’s tradition of illuminating and reflecting issues important to our audience by utilizing the series’ ability to construct and execute the real-life narrative art form it has made famous.”
The Real World: Hollywood premieres on Wednesday, April 16th at 10:00 PM (ET) on MTV.
