Man Vs. Wild is returning to the Discovery Channel with more episodes for the second season. Bear Grylls will once again experience some of the harshest conditions on Earth in six all new episodes. Some of Bear’s adventures will include parachuting into the frigid Siberian Tundra, surviving flash floods in Southern Africa and traveling through Indonesia’s Ring of Fire.
Man Vs. Wild gives viewers the opportunity to experience some of the most extreme conditions in the world – with Bear Grylls as the ultimate adventure expert,” said John Ford, president and general manager of Discovery Channel. “These latest expeditions truly portray the all-out gumption Bear possesses, as he throws himself into the harshest of situations using his vast knowledge of life-saving techniques.”
The new episodes of Man Vs. Wild will start on May 2, 2008 at 9 PM ET/PT. In the first episode, Bear Grylls will travel to Zambia, where he will take on 12-foot waves in some of the world’s most dangerous rapids. On the second episode set to air May 9, Bear will visit the Namibian Desert. On the May 16 and May 23 episodes, Bear will travel to Indonesia’s Ring of Fire. On the May 30 and June 6 episodes, Bear will visit Siberia.
Beary Grylls also recently released a companion book for Man Vs. Wild. The book, which hit shelves on April 29, teaches fans about the survival techniques he employs as he travels into the extreme wild.
