Project Runway fans never got to see the full potential of competitor Jack Mackenroth, the good-natured designer who had to bow out of the competition due to a staph infection in his lip. But Jack stole the hearts of many with his quiet calm demeanor and big heart.
Now Mackenroth, along with fellow Project Runway contestant Kevin Christiana will be “Loving Out Loud” in POZ’s third annual fundraiser AIDS walk in New York City. The event, which is aimed at raising money and awareness for fighting AIDS, will also feature many stars, including soaps stars Ilene Kristen (One Life to Live); All My Children’s Amanda Baker (Babe Carey), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Lavery), Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater), and Billy Miller (Richie Novak); BethAnn Bonner, Kristen Alden, and John-Paul Lavoisier of One Life to Live, and As the World Turns’ Van Hansis, Billy Magnussen, and Wole Parks. The star roster also includes actress Marj Dusay, Mark Dobies (Guiding Light’s Noah Chase and One Life to Live’s Daniel Colson), Mark Walton (All My Children’s Terry McDermott) and Law and Order’s Christopher Meloni.
“This effort continues to be a labor of love and the POZ team would like nothing more than to continue contributing to New York’s most significant fund raising event,” says POZ on their website. “This is when and where we can make ourselves heard, when we can love out loud. It’s about celebrating life. It’s about being who we are and overcoming untimely death.”
The POZ AIDS Walk New York, Love Out Loud, will take place on Wednesday, May 14th from 5:45 – 9:00 PM (ET) at Prohibition, 545 Columbus Avenue, New York City. There will be a $25.00 donation at the door.
