American Idol’s Luke Menard Diagnosed with Cancer…
May 21, 2008 03:42 PM by Jennifer_Brown
Fans of American Idol will remember Luke Menard as the dimple-faced carpet-layer cutie from early this season. He made it to the top 16, but failed to impress and was sent packing after singing Wham’s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.
Now Menard is in the news for another reason. A representative of Menard’s a capella group, Chapter 6, recently reported that the young singer has been diagnosed with cancer. Reports say he had been having trouble breathing and had complained of a lingering cough. What was at first suspicion of walking pneumonia, turned into a battery of testing that revealed the real culprit behind Menard’s troubles to be Stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Menard is reportedly in good spirits, despite the diagnosis. Prognosis for Stage I or Stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is good with proper treatment, which could include radiation or a combination of drugs, and is considered to be “one of the most curable forms of cancer.”
Reality TV Magazine wishes Luke a full and speedy recovery!
