When you’re looking for someone to judge who will be the Greatest American Dog, you can’t just bark up any old tree. You have to get some distinguished names in the world of canine criticism, which is just what CBS has done for their upcoming dog-based reality show.
Wendy Diamond, Allan Reznik and Victoria Stillwell have been tapped to judge the upcoming Greatest American Dog, a show that will pit teams of dogs and their owners against one another as they live together and work through challenges together in search of a grand prize of $250,000.
Wendy Diamond is the founder, Chief Pet Officer, and Editor-in-Chief of the animal lifestyle magazine and website, Animal Fair. Diamond is also a regular daytime TV guest, including appearances on Good Morning America and The View, among others. An author (books and cookbooks) and magazine contributor as well, Diamond’s latest project is a docu-comedy called In Search of Puppy Love, which includes a cameo by Paula Abdul.
Allan Reznik has also taken his love of dogs to the pen… er, pen and paper, that is. He is a book author, and also writes magazine and newspaper articles and scripts. Currently, Reznik is Editor-at-Large of Dog World and Dog Fancy magazines, and is Editor-in-Chief of Dogs in Review. In February of 2008, Reznik was honored with the Best Editorial Columnist of the Year Award by the Alliance of Purebred Dog Writers.
Victoria Stillwell is one of the world’s most recognized dog trainers, thanks to her television series, It’s Me or the Dog. Stillwell is the co-founder of Dog Trainers of New York, Dog Trainers of New Jersey and Dog Trainers of Georgia. Stillwell, too, is an author, and has written two books as well as numerous magazine and journal articles, including articles for The New York Times and Psychology Today. Stillwell is also deeply committed to the cause of animal rescue.
Greatest American Dog, which will be hosted by zoologist/television personality, Jarrod Miller, will premiere on Thursday, July 10th at 8:00 PM (ET) on CBS.
