On Monday, June 9 at 9 PM ET, Nashville Star will return for a sixth season. In the previous five seasons, Nashville Star aired on the USA Network, but the show is moving to NBC for the sixth season. To kick off the first season ever on NBC, country music star Taylor Swift will perform on the two-hour season premiere episode.
At only eighteen years old, Taylor Swift is one of the hottest acts in country music. When she was just seventeen, Taylow Swift wrote and recorded a number-one country single called “Our Song.” Taylor Swift has achieved triple platinum status with over 3 million in album sales.
Taylor Swift’s many honors include being named Country Music’s Hottest Female Artist of 2007 by AOL Music and Best New Artist of 2007 by the editors of iTunes. In 2008, Taylor Swift won the award for Top New Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. At the 2008 CMT Music Awards, Taylor Swift won for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year. Other awards include Superstar of Tomorrow at the 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards, CMA Horizon Award winner, and Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Songwriter/Artist of the Year.
In addition to Taylor Swifts’ performance, the Nashville Star 6 season premiere will also include highlights from the Nashville Star casting calls and will reveal the contestants who were selected as the top twelve finalists.
