American Idol Now American Defendant!

June 16, 2008 07:04 AM by Lisa Stauber

The producers of hit show American Idol are reportedly being sued by the singers’ union.

It seems that American Idol Productions and Tick Tock Productions are trying avoid royalty payouts to stars. The American Federation of Musicians is taking AI to court over the syndicated version of the show, claiming the tracks were re-recorded in violation of an agreement to pay out for rebroadcasts of the show.
