August 06, 2008 04:00 PM by Paulene Hinds
Reigning American Idol David Cook has gotten together with Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo for his first solo album.
Producer Rob Cavallo, who also collaborated with Green Day, Kid Rock, Eric Clapton, and My Chemical Romance to name a few, is lending a hand on Cook’s untitled album.
Cook is currently on the American idols Live Tour, which finishes September 13, but has been recording and cowriting tracks for the album in between. He made a statement to Billboard that he already has seven tracks prepared and hope to have twenty tracks to choose from for the album.
David has been rubbing elbows with other famous people besides Rob Cavello. He has also collaborated with Ed Roland from Collective Soul and Raine Maida from Our Lady Peace.
There is no specific release date for his album, but we do know that it is to be released sometime in November on the same day as Idol runner up David Archuleta’s first album.
