August 09, 2008 12:00 PM by Paulene Hinds

David Archuleta from American idol is working on songs for his debut album with Rock Mafia Productions, the Santa Monica based factory behind the Miley Cyrus hits,”7 Things and “See You Again.”

David’s father had recently met with Rock Mafia producers Antonina Armato and Tim James, who co-wrote and co-produced eight of the tracks on Cyrus’ latest album, Breakout.

After the meetings, they were convnced that this is the right direction to go and want a Miley touch on their album.

Over the next two weeks, David will record at least two Rock Mafia songs that 19 Recordings and RCA Records are hoping could turn into hit singles.

David had stopped by New York’s Z100 radio staion on August 1, 2008 to unveil his first single, “Crush.” The full album is to be released the same day in November as American idol winner David Cook’s debut!
