ABC has announced that Ryan Seacrest will continue to co-host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and that he will also now have his name officially added to the title of the show. The next edition of the show will be called Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

In addition to being co-host, Ryan Seacrest is also one of the executive producers of the show. Seacrest first started co-hosting the show with the December 31, 2005 episode. Even though it should go without saying, Dick Clark will also continue to co-host and be an executive producer on the show that also bears his name.

“Watching Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve is an American tradition. Ryan has been a tremendous part of the show the last couple of years and we’re thrilled he’ll be part of it for years to come,” said Stephen McPherson, who is president of ABC Entertainment.

“The name change of the program to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest reflects the success of the co-hosting responsibilities of one of America’s most time-honored traditions. We are thrilled to extend Ryan’s contract as co-host of the ‘party of the year’ with Dick,” said Orly Adelson, who is the executive producer and president of dick clark productions.

The Wednesday, December 31, 2008 edition of the show will mark the 37th anniversary of the program.
