CBS has officially announced the identities of the eighteen castaways that will be competing in Survivor Gabon. Survivor Gabon is the seventeenth edition of Survivor, and the first edition to be filmed in high-definition.
Host Jeff Probst said, “Shooting in HD is like adding another character to the show. The detail is so sharp you can’t help but feel as though you are experiencing the adventure yourself.”
Survivor Gabon is set in Africa and has the tagline “Earth’s Last Eden.” According to Probst, “In a strange coincidence to Earth’s Last Eden – good vs. evil emerges as a major theme this season. I think the audience will quickly identify with one group or the other.”
The eighteen castaways of Survivor Gabon have a diverse set of careers. Crystal Cox is a former Olympic Gold Medal winner, while Sugar Kiper is a pin-up model and actress. There are also two lawyers in the cast (Dan Kay and Charlie Herschel). The castaways range in age from twenty two years old (Ken Hoang and Kelly Czarnecki) to sixty-one years old (Gillian Larson).
