NBC has revealed the eight families who will be competing in the upcoming edition of The Biggest Loser: Families. Each family will consist of two members that consist of either husband and wife or parent and child.
Alison Sweeney returns as host, and Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels are returning as trainers. The new family edition will mark the sixth season of The Biggest Loser. There will be four husband-and-wife teams and four parent-and-child teams competing for the $250,000 grand prize. Harper will be training the husbands and wives, while Michaels will be training the parents and their adult children.
Several of the contestants have very interesting background stories. Contestants include a mother and daughter who have been estranged for over five years, newlyweds who want to be more healthy in order to have kids, a father with some life-threatening health issues, and parents seeking to set a better example for their overweight kids.
Harper and Michael will actually fly to the contestants’ hometowns to reveal to them that they have been selected for the show. Then, the contestants will be whisked away to the The Biggest Loser ranch in California.
The eight teams that will be competing on the sixth season of The Biggest Loser are: Renee Wilson and her daughter Michelle Aguilar; Tom Desrochers Sr. and his son Tom Desrochers Jr.; Shellay Cremen and her daughter Amy Cremen; Jerry Skeabeck and his daughter Coleen Skeaback; Ed Brantley and his wife Heba Salama; Brady Vilcan and his wife Vicky Vilcan; Adam Capers and his wife Stacey Capers; Phillip Parham and his wife Amy Parham.
The Biggest Loser: Families premieres on Tuesday, September 16 from 8 PM to 10 PM ET on NBC.
