Howie Mandell, the host of Deal Or No Deal was shining as bright as his star this week.
He was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and his pal Jay Leno was there to say a few words on the occasion.
Jay teased Howie that there were only 2,368 people ahead of him on the Walk of Fame and what a unique honor that is. He also toldET that he likes Howie both as a comic and a friend and “if you need a role model for Hollywood that you can’t do much better than Howie.”
Howie said, “I cannot even fathom what it feels like and that this is the utlimate. This is forever, nothingis forever and this business is so fleeting, a job is fleeting an audition is fleeting, an opportunity is fleeting…this is forever!”
Howie wasespecially thrilled to have his family beside him at the ceremony and he commented, “If I didn’t have my family here it wouldn’t be as huge as it is.” His mother, his brother, his best friends and his wife were all there as they unveiled his star.
He toldET that he was happy to have his best friend Jay Leno there as he was his first friend in Hollywood. He said, “Comics are really rough on other comics, we would get up one at a time and try to get the audience to love us and no one was really thrilled that maybe someone else got a laugh, he was the first guy to share and he was there for me.”
