Top Pop Group Premieres On MTV

MTV is introducing another music competition reality TV show. Top Pop Group will attempt to find the next pop sensation. Mario Lopez, who is well known to reality TV fans, will be the host of the show. Mario Lopez has previously appeared as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars and as host of America’s Best Dance Crew.
In addition to Mario Lopez, Marianela Pereyra will serve as a backstage correspondent. In the series, nine undiscovered music groups will compete for a chance to win $100,000 and the title of “MTV’s Top Pop Group.”
Top Pop Group will also feature celebrity judges and mentors. Every week, a new celebrity coach will mentor and help to train the groups. However, it’s not the mentors and judges that decide who makes it to the next round, but viewers voting at home.
Top Pop Group premieres on Thursday, September 11 at 10 PM ET/PT on MTV.
