Last month it was announced that Lauren Conrad from The Hills would be designing a gown for a trophy presenter and now Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the telecast has announced that last season’s Project Runway winner has been chosen to design a gown for one of the trophy girls.
“We are looking forward to showcasing two very talented designers at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Both Christian Siriano and Lauren Conrad will present a gown that reflects their style and personality,” said Ehrlich.
Siriano is thrilled about being able to showcase his designs and stated, “I am honored to design a gown for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards trophy presenter. It has been so inspiring watching the Emmys every year to see who is going to be the most fabulous diva at the show. It’s wonderful to see what the stars are wearing and which designer takes over the carpet. It will be such an experience seeing my own creation on stage.”
Siriano became known all over America when he earned a spot on season four of “Project Runway.” He then became the show’s youngest ever winner.
Siriano has worked with designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQuenn, but is now designing solo and is currently hard at workpreparing a collection to be shown during New York’s Spring Fashion Week.
Siriano will not be the only Project Runway guest on the show this year as Heidi Klum will emcee the awards along with five other reality show hosts. Tom Bergeron of “Dancing With the Stars”; Ryan Seacrest of “American Idol”; Howie Mandel of “Deal or No Deal” and Jeff Probst of “Survivor” willnot onlyemcee the program, but each one of them are nominated in a new category recognizing their work on reality tv.
The telecast is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures LLC. Returning with Ehrlich are producer Renato Basile and co-producer Danette Herman. Louis J. Horvitz will be directing.
“The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards” will air live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 21 (8:00-11:00 PM ET) on ABC.
