Tonight on Extreme Makeover Home Edition both the Latif family of Wilmington Delaware and their next door neighbor, Rose Chatam will receive new homes in just seven days.

Ju-Juanna’s life story is an example of how one can overcome obstacles and persevere to achieve a dream. She struggled through a dysfunctional home life as a child and then dropped out of high school and became a single mother. As she tried to get her life on track, she found herself in a homeless shelter when her and her son, Antonio were forced to move there.

Not letting her situation get her down, Ju-Juanna took parenting classes, obtained life skills and received job training while in the shelter.

After she received her GED she went to college, toting her young son on eight buses a day. She eventually entered a work-study program and got a job. She had three more children and was able to afford a home for them all.

Ju-Juanna became involved in her church’s mentoring program and worked as a social service worker for many years inspiring others to improve their lives. She has been recognized by the community and now is a motivational speaker.

Ju-Juanna is now the proud working mother of four children and living in a home of her own, right next door to her adopted grandmother, Rose Chatam.

Rose is a seamstress and donates her time by making flower arrangements for different church programs, giving rides to church members and making clothing for the needy.

Ju-Juanna’s children are following in her footsteps, acting as youth leaders for their church and are 4H members.

Antonio is now 19 yesr old and is on the committee to give input on the building of a youth center for kids at church and in the community. He also travels to different churches in the city and performs his rap music of positive lyrics and empowerment at youth events. But their home is falling apart at the seams, and it’s not accessible for wheelchair-bound nine-year-old son James.

Ty and the designers; Paulo DiMero, Tracy Hutson, Paige Hemmis and Eduardo Xol, head out to Wilmington and send the Latif family on a trip to Walt Disney World as they build a safer home for them and Rose Chatam.

Catch the episode tonight at 8 PM ET on ABC.
