Coolio is the latest rapper to get his own reality TV show. Oxygen has announced a series called Coolio’s Rules that will focus on the family life of the hip-hop star. The series is set to run for six one-hour episodes.
In Coolio’s Rules, single parent Coolio’s faces the challenge of raising his four teenage kids. The four kids are twenty year old Artisha, twenty year old Brandi, eighteen year old Artis, and fifteen year old Jackie.
Coolio must balance his job as a musician with raising the four teenagers. To make matters even more complicated, Coolio also undertakes the entrepreneurial endeavor of launching a catering business with his children.
“Oxygen is thrilled to continue the momentum of its record-breaking year with an honest yet unconventional family series like Coolio’s Rules,” says Amy Introcaso-Davis, who is Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Production at Oxygen Media. “Coolio is part showman, part businessman, part charmer and all loving father- we celebrate him for his truly live out loud personality.”
Coolio will be launching his latest album “Steal Hear” on October 21, 2008. In order to promote his album, Coolio will go on the road with his son Artis, who is attempting to launch his own rap career. Coolio’s Rules premieres on Tuesday, October 28 at 10PM ET on Oxygen.
