Lauren Conrad, who is currently filming the fourth season of The Hills, has joined up with mark cosmetics to fight dating violence. Part of the profits from mark, the beauty and accessories line she promotes for Avon, will be donated to groups involved in stopping dating violence. Conrad, 22, serves as the spokesperson for the campaign as well as the first Honorary Co-Chair of the M.powerment Expert Advisory Board.
She wrote on her MySpace celebrity blog, “I have partnered with mark in its first initiative, aimed at ending the cycle of dating abuse and violence. Women ages 16-24 experience the highest rates of partner violence, and mark and I want to change that statistic.”
Avon says in a product listing that 100 percent of the net proceeds from Conrad’s Have A Heart Necklace will be donated to the Girls M.powerment Campaign. That means that $20 from every $22necklace sold will help fund the project.Lauren commented, “Abuse is a devastating cycle. By purchasing this necklace for yourself and your friends, you’ll support the cause and raise awareness.”
