Felicia Jackson\'s House

In the sixth season premiere, the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team travels to Rockville, Maryland to help a single mother named Felicia Jackson. Felicia is attempting to keep all of her ten nieces and nephews out of the foster care system.

Felicia’s sister Cassandra passed away from cancer four years ago, and Felicia promised to keep all ten of her nieces and nephews together. Felicia was already a single mother of four children, so the addition of her sister’s children made her a mother of fourteen children.

In order to support the family, Felicia works as a security guard at a mall. Because Felicia wasn’t able to afford permanent housing, the family has been living at a hotel. In order to help Felicia, the county deeded her a piece of land with a house, but the house is in need of major repairs.

Enter Ty Pennington and his design team to help renovate Felicia’s home. The design team includes Paul DiMeo, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Paige Hemmis, Didiayer Snyder and Eduardo Xol. Local builder Classic Homes of Maryland and hundreds of volunteers and workers also pitch in to help out.

Two celebrities will also make special appearances to help Felecia Jackson and her family. Washington Redskins player Chris Cooley sends a gift to the family, while American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson gives advice on making over one of the Jackson girls’ rooms. Jennifer Hudson also sends a personal message of inspiration to the girls.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs Sunday, September 28 from 7 PM to 9 PM on ABC.
