October 04, 2008 02:00 PM by Paulene Hinds

The American Idol season seven runner-up, David Archuleta is making his debut in an episode of Nickelodeon’s iCarly. In the episode titled “iRocked the Vote,” Archuleta, 16, plays a contestant on an Idol-style show called “America Sings.” He gets a huge spike in votes after winning support in an iCarly webcast.

“iCarly is all about super-talented teens so David Archuleta is an ideal fit,” show executive producer and creator Dan Schneider told Usmagazine.com. The series is centered around a high school student (Miranda Cosgrove), who has her own Web show.

Archuleta released his first single “Crush,” as well as the music video to accompany the song in August.

His episode of iCarly will air next spring.
