After the Dancing With The Stars camera’s stopped rolling on Tuesday night, Kim Kardashian, the third casualty of the show, broke into tears and could not be consoled. She concluded the show with one of her earlier dances and then rushed into the arms of her family and immediately broke down into tears.
Kim’s publicist followed behind her with a box of kleenex as she was genuinely distraught by her exit from the show.
“What can I say, I am obviously sad to go,” Kardashian blogged on her Web site the next day, “but I am more sad to not be seeing this amazing cast that really has grown so close together.”
“It was a tough day for her,” her pro partner Mark Ballas said after the show, “and we talked about it, and I imagine it will always be a sad day for her. I just hope that her time on the show was magical for her, and, at the end of the day, I will always be so proud that I was the one holding her hand up there.”
Much to the surprise of the judges and many viewers, Kim was unable to use her assets on the dance floor. The biggest stumbling block for Kim was her shyness. “What people don’t realize about her,” stepfather Bruce Jenner told PEOPLE, “Is that she is incredibly shy. She’s a smart business woman, but a very shy and quiet girl.”
“I know I wasn’t the best dancer and I never claimed to be,” Kardashian blogged. “I have never taken a dance class in my life until now! But WOW what an incredible experience!”
After the show Kim left with her family and went to a “Keeping Up With The Karashian’s” after party.
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, hugged Kardashian after the show. She told PEOPLE, “This could have been a great opportunity for her to blossom and show the world that she is more than just a beautiful face.”
Inaba added, “I don’t think she really understood what it was that she got into when she joined the show. It looks very glamorous, and it looks easy, but dancing is so athletic, and so difficult, and it’s not easy to improve each week, and that’s exactly what we demand from the contestants on the show.”
Watch week three of DWTS next Monday night at 8 PM ET and Tuesday at 9 PM ET on ABC.
