Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Bollea is getting out of jail nearly three months early with credits for good behavior and working. He will be released on October 21, 2008. A sourcetold PEOPLE the early release is standard for all inmates.
“They automatically get credits towards early release, and if they don’t do anything bad while they’re here, they get to use the credits,” says a jail official who did not want to be identified.
Bollea was sentenced to eight months in jailfor his role in a car accident last year in which his friend and passenger, 22-year-old John Graziano, was seriously injured. His friend now requires lifelong care.
At that time, Bollea entered a plea of “no contest” on charges of felony reckless driving in a Florida courtroom and was also given five years probation and 500 hours community service.
Graziano’s lawyer George Tragos of St. Petersburg, Fla., said he is not surprised to hear that Hogan is getting out early. “It’s standard procedure,” hetold PEOPLE. “There is no way for us to impact his release date, that’s not within our control. It’s a formula worked out by the sheriff.”
