Since hearing yesterday that Misty May-Treanor was seriously injured during her dance rehearsals, many of us fans having been sitting on the edge of our seats today awaiting the news whether she will be able to continue on in the competition tonight. Contestant Brooke Burke has recentlyconfirmed that Misty May’s injury has taken her out of the competition on Dancing With the Stars. She spoke to an L.A. radio station this morning about the Olympic Star’s injury.
“It’s such a sad situation. She did hurt her Achilles tendon. I don’t know if she tore it or ruptured it,” Brooke said on L.A.’s 104.3 FM. “She’s out of the competition. Just like that, it’s over for her.”
“The sad thing…this is her jumping mechanism,”she added of the beach volleyball champion. “We’re all really concerned for her. She may be having surgery this week. We don’t know yet. It’s such a bummer.”
Brooke alsocommented on what took place withthe Olympic gold medalist as she injured herself,”She heard a pop, so it’s really serious.”
Brooke is unsure if anyone will be eliminated tonight from the show due to the circumstances, but she didtell the radio stationthat perhaps Edyta and Maks may perform a dance together since both of their partners are gone.
ABC has yet to confirm the report.
Dancing With the Stars airs tonight at 8 PM ET on ABC.
