CBS has reportedly ordered a pilot for ‘Live Like You’re Dying,’ a new reality series created and hosted by Survivor host Jeff Probst. Mark Burnett will excecutive produce the show. The show will feature different terminally ill people going on “the last adventure of their life.”
Probst told Entertainment Weekly, the show will not focus on the more troubling aspects of living with a terminal disease, but rather on how the person is living the remainder of their life to the fullest.
“The focus of the show is not death,” he said. “The story we’re going to tell is about living. This is a show that is intended to inspire everybody to get the most out of their lives every day.”
The participants chosen to participate on the show will reportedly experience reunions with estranged family and friend, participate in a “legacy moment” (an act done to ensure that the subject’s name will live on after their death) and be given the chance to live out one of their personal dreams.
“It could be playing guitar with Eric Clapton or jumping out of a plane into a volcano,” Probst told EW. “Whatever it is that you’re still desiring to do in your life, we want to make it happen.”
Live Like You’re Dying’s pilot will begin production in January once Probst and Burnett have completed filming Survivor’s eighteenth season, according to EW.
