Jennifer Love Hewitt Thinks Dancing With The Stars Pro Males Are Insensitive

October 31, 2008 01:00 PM by Paulene Hinds

Jennifer Love Hewitt, who was criticized last year for pictures that showed her in a bikini sporting curves instead of bones, has come to Dancing With the Stars pro dancer, Cheryl Burke’s defense. She is calling the scrutiny of the Dancing With the Stars competitor’s body “really insensitive.”

“Cheryl Burke is so beautiful and an amazing dancer and that’s what people should concentrate on,” Hewitt, said Wednesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Last week Burke was criticized by the male pro dancers Louis Van Amstel and Maksim Chmerkovskiy for gaining a few pounds over the summer. Hewitt says, “I think [people] feel like people don’t have any feelings.”

Although Hewitt was noticeably slimmer on the show, she is not attributing her new physique to pressure from the media, but due to training for a marathon.

“My body just changed,” she says. “When you’re running that much and working out like that, that’s what happens. I was happy with myself in those photos, and I’m still happy.”
