If you’re tuning into ABC tonight expecting to learn who the eighth couple voted off Dancing With The Stars will be, then you’re going to be in for a disappointment. No, instead all the networks will be focused on another little-known reality competition called the United States presidential election. While viewers will likely learn who the next leader of our country will be tonight, they will have to wait until Wednesday night to find out which celebrity’s dancing journey has come to an end.
To reward viewers for being patient, ABC is having a special guest star on the Dancing With The Stars results show. Academy Award and Grammy Award winning artist Lionel Richie will be performing. Lionel Richie will sing his hit, “Dancing on the Ceiling,” and his first single, “Good Morning,” from his new album “Just Go.” “Just Go” is scheduled to be released on February 17, 2009 by Island Records. Cheryl Burke, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson and Tony Dovolani will dance as Richie performs “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo will dance as Richie performs “Good Morning.”
In addition, viewers will learn the winner of The Macy’s Stars of Dance Design-a-Dance. The public voted on five different costume designs, and the winner will have his or her costume created by the show designer. Dance Center will also return with a segment starring head judge Len Goodman and Season Two competitors Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice.
The following six teams remain on Dancing With The Stars: Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer, Brooke Burke & Derek Hough, Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke, Cody Linley & Edyta Sliwinska, Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani, and Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson. However, one of the couples will be eliminated from the competition this week. The Dancing With The Stars results show airs on Wednesday, November 5 from 8 PM to 9:02 PM ET on ABC.
