MTV is launching a new business reality show that will feature rapper 50 Cent. The series is called 50 Cent: The Money and the Power and will feature the rapper schooling aspiring business moguls.
According to Forbes magazine, 50 Cent, who is also known as Curtis Jackson, earned over $150 million in 2007. In addition to his earning from his rapping, 50 Cent also managed to turn a stake in Vitamin Water into a 9-figure payout. As 50 Cent puts it, “If I was just my image, I wouldn’t have made this much money.”
50 Cent is working on a book called “The 50th Law,” which is being co-authored with Robert Greene. The book shares the lessons that 50 Cent learned as a street hustler that helped him become the huge success that he is today.
In 50 Cent: The Money and the Power, fourteen wannabe moguls will live and work together at “Camp Curtis,” which is a Brooklyn warehouse. The contestants will sleep in tents named after the five boroughs of New York City. The contestants will compete in challenges designed to help teach them the very same skills that helped 50 Cent succeed. 50 Cent’s G-Unit label mate Tony Yayo will help to keep the contestants in line throughout series.
At the end of every episode, 50 Cent will narrow down the contestants but testing them on the knowledge he has taught them. The lasting contestant standing will receive a $100,000 to help them launch their dream.
