Julianne Hough will not be returning to Dancing With the Stars next season and may be hanging up her dance shoes for good. She wrote on her blog about her departure from the show, at least for now.
“I won’t be on Dancing this spring season. I don’t know about the fall. Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see,” she said on her blog. “I’m definitely going to focus on the music. My first album was a learning experience, and I can’t wait for the next one. I feel like the writing and producing will be even better, really awesome.”
Julianne thanked everyone who has listened to her new album and said nice things about her songs. She was surprised how patient her fans were, waiting to hear her sing “My Hallelujah Song” on the show this week.
“I was excited it finally ran,” she added. “As I wrote a few weeks ago when that was taped, I’ve sung in front of thousands of people, but I don’t think I’ve ever been as nervous as when I performed on the show in front of my peers and the producers.
She added, “It was fun but definitely nerve-wracking.”
Her departure from the show does not mean that she will not be following the finale next week. Julianne is making a prediction that Brooke Burke and her brother Derek Hough will take home the mirror ball trophy. This will be the first win for her brother if that happens.
Julianne said, “I hope Brooke and Derek win. I think they deserve to win.” She added, “From day one, they’ve been awesome. I think Brooke is the most technically sound of the celebrities and she’s a beautiful dancer.”
Next week, Brooke will have the expertise of two pro dancers to take her into the finals. Julianne will be there too!
After Wednesday’s show, Hough said she “stayed up with Derek late last night; we were hanging out after the show, and he asked if I wanted to help him out with some lifts he was practicing for Brooke.
“I said, ‘Absolutely, anything I can do to help you win. I’m totally rooting for you.’”
The Dancing With the Stars finale will air on Monday at 8 PM ET on ABC and the results show will air on Tuesday at 9 PM ET on ABC.
