While December might be filled with Holiday Specials and reruns, January spells more reality programming for network television. NBC recently announced its shows scheduled to premiere in January of 2009, and the list included one new and one returning reality TV series.
A new reality series called Superstars of Dance will debut on Sunday, January 4 from 9 PM to 11 PM ET on NBC. The series is from the same producers of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance and will showcase the world’s best and most varied dancers. After the premiere, the series will move to its regular day and time on Monday, January 5 through January 19 from 8 PM to 10 PM ET. The season finale of Superstars of Dance will air on Monday, January 26 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET.
Following Superstars of Dance on Monday night will be another reality series called Momma’s Boys. The show is from executive producer Ryan Seacrest, and it will air from 10 PM to 11 PM ET on Monday nights.
The Biggest Loser: Couples will return on Tuesday, January 6 from 8 PM to 10 PM ET on NBC. While not reality TV, Deal Or Now Deal host Howie Mandel will also be getting his own comedy series called Howie Do It, which will premiere on Friday, January 9.
