Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson has something to smile about this week. After the tragic murders of her mother, brother and nephew she finally received happy news Wednesdaywhen she receivedfour Grammy nominations for her self-titled debut album.
Hudson said, “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing,” Jennifer says. “I’m extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”
Jennifer is nominated for Best R&B Album (Jennifer Hudson), Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (“Spotlight”), Best R&B Song (“Spotlight) and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (“I’m His Only Woman” with Fantasia).
The nominations came a day after her brother-in-law, William Balfour, was formally charged with murdering her family members. Hudson had been in seclusion since the murders of her mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson, and her nephew Julian King and has not commented on the arrest of William Balfour.
