Ty Pennington Looking At Plans

On this week’s episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Ty Pennington and his team visit the DeVries family in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The Devries family home is in such bad shape that it’s on the verge of collapsing.

The Devries family consists of Susan and Dirk and their three children. Susan Devries has Ventricular Tachycardia, which is a condition that keeps her heart constantly beating above 100 beats per minute. Susan’s condition is becoming more and more life threatening, and the deteriorating home isn’t helping. Even though Susan often feels ill and fatigued, she still works as a music teacher, band director, 1st grade reading specialist and school bus driver.

Dirk Devries is a mechanic, but he suffers from severe arthritis in his only hand. The severe arthritis limits his ability to make repairs to his family home.

The Devries family home suffers from a number of problems including a leaking roof, which has resulted in severe water damage and rotting wood. Ty Pennington, his design team, local builder Lansing Construction and hundreds of volunteers will work to rebuild the Devries family home. The design team includes Paul DiMeo, Eduardo Xol, John Littlefield and Tracy Hutson.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition airs on Sunday, December 7 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET on ABC.
