Project Runway’s Season 4 winner, Christian Siriano, has signed a deal to design shoes and handbags for Payless ShoeSource. Siriano’s inexpensive collection will debut during New York’s fashion week in February at his runway show and will be available for Payless shoppers by fall 2009, reports New York’s Daily News.
Designer, Siriano who put the word “fierce” on the map during season 4 of Project Runway said, “I’m so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend but, most importantly, is also about affordability … I’m all about the runway and the sidewalks!”
Siriano has been designing collections since April 2008 when he signed on to design a fifteen piece collection for Puma. In May 2008, he designed virtual promwear for Gaia Online’s virtual prom. As part of his prize for winning Project Runway, Siriano’s first collection for Bluefly began retailing on the website in July 2008.
Siriano debuted the spring collection for his first line, Christian V. Siriano, at New York Fashion Week on September 11th, 2008. This is his first footwear collection.
