Bad Girls Club is a huge hit for Oxygen. The third season premiere was Oxygen’s highest rated and most watched season premiere ever. In order to interact with fans of the show, Oxygen has announced Oxygen’s Tuesday Tweet, which uses Twitter technology.
According to Oxygen, they worked with Twitter technology to create a brand new application that allows Bad Girls Club fans to post comments and questions in real time online or from their mobile phone. Oxygen is promoting the Tuesday Tweet on-air during Bad Girls Club, to the mobile fan club, in an e-mail newsletter, and on the main Oxygen website.
Cast members from Bad Girls Club will be part of the tweeting, and cast member Ailea has already particpated. Oxygen’s Tuesday Tweet can be found at twitter.oxygen.com.
“Oxygen’s audience is always connected and always online, especially from the wireless devices they’re addicted to. They are already familiar with Twitter and are tweeting with friends, so we created this application to capture that engagement and put it around Bad Girls Club and the Oxygen brand,” said Jennifer Kavanagh, who is Oxygen’s Vice President of Digital and New Media.
