The Real World is heading back to the place where it all began. For the twenty-first season, the Real World is going back to New York with The Real World: Brooklyn. Also, for the first time ever, the Real World will be broadcast in HD. Each episode will run for one hour, just like last season.
The Real World: Brooklyn will star eight roommates together in one house. As usual, cameras will track every move the roommates make, as they have romances, fights, and misunderstandings. The eight roommates include an Iraq war veteran, a former beauty queen, a hip hop dancing hippie, a punk rock Mormon, a dolphin trainer, a computer geek, an abs model and an advocate for victims of abuse.
Cast members are twenty-one year old Baya from Salt Lake City, Utah; twenty-three year old Chet from Salt Lake City, Utah; twenty year old Devyn from Kansas City, Missouri; twenty-two year old J.D. from Miami Beach, Florida; twenty-four year old Katelynn from West Palm Beach, Florida; twenty-three year old Ryan from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; twenty-two year old Sarah from San Francisco, California; and twenty-three year old Scott from Salem, New Hampshire.
The Real World Brooklyn will offer a couple changes from recent seasons. In addition to there being eight instead of seven roommates, the roommates will not band together for a job or activity like in past seasons. Instead, the roommates will explore the city, while pursuing their own career dreams and volunteering in the community. This change in format is actually reminiscent of the first season in New York.
