If Julianne Hough has it her way, she won’t be toted as a Dancing With The Stars pro, but will be known as a country music artist. The two time Mirror Ball trophy winner says music is her true passion and she is hoping to be as successful at it as she is dancing.
She is definately on her way! Her self-titled album debuted in the number1 spot last May and number 3 overall on the entire Top 200. It was the highest country debut for any new country artist since 2006 and earned her an Emmy nomination. Her first single That Song In My Head was an iTunes Single of the Week winner.
“I’ve always wanted to be a country artist,” Hough said. “That’s my life and it’s really the biggest thing by far in my life. Being on stage with someone like Rodney Atkins and Montgomery Gentry is a thrill, and opening this summer for a great performer like Brad Paisley is really an honor and among the highlights of my life and career so far.”
Julianne Hough is however, quick to thank the popular show Dancing With The Stars for making her a household name.
“So many people come up to me all over the country and tell me that they saw me on Dancing With The Stars.” Julianne Hough said.
Julianne Hough’s dance career dates back to the age of 10 when she was an extra in the hit movie Harry Potter and then became the youngest person and only American to become both the International Latin Youth Dance Champion and Junior Blackpool World Latin Dance Champion.
Julianne Hough’s second single My Hallelujah Song is making its way up the charts, and she is currently being featured as part of the current campaign for Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit gum The Taste Is Going To Move You.
Julianne Hough hasn’t said yet whether or not she will return to Dancing With The Stars season 8 in March or if she will take a season or two off like she said at the end of season 7, to focus on her music career.
