American Idol: Contestant Casey Carlson Wows the Judges In Kansas

January 15, 2009 05:00 PM by Paulene Hinds

Last night on American Idol, the judges headed to Kansas City, the tornado capital of the World and home of season 7 winner David Cook. 27 tickets to Hollywood were given out and one particular contestant stood out amongst the crowd.

20 year old University of Minnesota student, Casey Carlson sang a beautiful rendition of A Thousand Miles and was able to even move Simon Cowell, who said, “I have a good vibe about you!” As Casey Carlson won her golden ticket to Hollywood she said, “I’m so excited. I can’t even believe that it’s real right now.”

Casey Carlson is a graduate of Eden Prairie High School (2006). She participated in drama and choir at the school, and is currently aliberal arts undergrad at the University of Minnesota.

Casey Carlson’s American Idol appearance and a recent bikini calendar project that she has just completed for the Campus Girls USA “2009 Big 10″ calendar (100% of the profits go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation) has blogs and celebrity websites on fire!

As for Casey Carlson making it into the Top 50 on American Idol, we will just have to wait and see for ourselves. Her father is keeping mum on that one as the there is a fine of $5 millions dollars by FOX if the confidentiality agreement is breached! He did say though, “I can’t say whether she is in that final 50. I need to honor their wishes. I wish I could tell you more.”
