American Idol: Ryan Seacrest’s Unsuccessful High-Five!

January 16, 2009 01:00 PM by Paulene Hinds

American Idol season 8 is underway, and if you are a follower of the show, you have seen Ryan Seacrestgive his signature high-five to contestants that make it through to the Hollywood round. This past week though in Kansas City, his high-five fell on one contestant that had no idea it was coming. Check out the YouTube video below!

American Idol hopeful Scott Macintrye, made it to the Hollywood round after singing his version of Billy Joel’s And So It Goes. The judges all loved his singing and were equally impressed with the fact that he started college at Arizona State University at age 14 and graduated at 19.

After getting his golden ticket, he left the room and was greeted by host, Ryan Seacrest. Of course Ryan Seacrest was excited for him and pulled his signature move…a high-five. The problem occurred though when the intended show of enthusiasm was not taken as it should have been. Scott MacIntyre never saw the move coming because he is legally blind!

Ryan Seacrestquickly realized his faux-pas and made a come back by telling Scott McIntyre that he was high-fiving him.

Some websites today are saying Ryan’s mistake proves that he doesn’t really care about the contestants and that American Idol is just another job for him, but maybe that isn’t the case. Ryan Seacrest may have seen the guy as he should have been seen, just a guy with a great voice, who cares that he is blind!

Mistake or not, the video is sweet, so check it out for yourself!
