On this week’s episode of Wife Swap, a homebody mom, who spends her time clipping coupons, swaps lives with a super social, spendthrift wife. For the McIntyre family, they can make money off a trip to the supermarket, while the Keyser family is mainly concerned with looking as successful as they feel.
The McIntyre family is from Michigan and consists of wife Denise, husband George, and their twin sons. The twin sons are ten years old and named David and Nick. Denise and George don’t believe in paying full price. They utilize coupons at the supermarket and will only eat at restaurants if they can get a discount. Taking advantage of two for one offers has led to stacks of cleaning products and toiletries in their basement.
The McIntyres spend so much time saving money that they don’t have much of a social life. The twins David and Nick are really into playing video games and only do the same activities to save money on gas and fees. The MyIntyres are actively putting savings into a college fund for the twins.
The Keyser family is from Pennsylvania and consists of wife Andrea, husband Mark, and their three kids. The children are fourteen year old Brianne, eleven year old Anthony, and eight year old Brock. Andrea and Mark met in college and were active on the fraternity and sorority scene.
Mark and Andrea own a $3,500 tanning bed, and the entire family strives to look fit. The Keysers don’t worry about money, because they spend all their time managing their social lives. The Keysers host lavish neighborhood luaus, and the kids are actively involved in multiple sports. The Keysers college savings plan is that the kids will hopefully get scholarships.
In the first week of the swap, Andrea Keyser is surprised by how much the McIntyres focus on savings. Andrea is even embarrassed when George plots to get cut price pizza. Meanwhile, Denise McIntyre struggles to spend money on parties. Denise is also troubled that the Keysers seem disconnected from each other.
In the second week of the swap, Andrea Keyser puts a halt to the McIntyres use of coupons, which makes George flip out. Andrea gives George an expensive makeover and signs the twins up for football. Meanwhile, Denise McIntyre puts the Keyser family on a budget and introduces them to her coupon binder. Denise also attempts to get the kids to spend more time with their dad.
